About the Image Compressor

Large photos are slow to upload, fill up storage and are often rejected by online forms that only accept files under 100 KB, 200 KB or 1 MB. Our free Image Compressor shrinks JPG, PNG and WebP files by removing data your eyes do not notice, so the picture looks the same but the file is much lighter.

Everything happens inside your own browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server, which makes the tool fast and completely private — ideal for ID cards, documents and personal photos.

How to use the Image Compressor

  1. Click Choose files or drag your images into the box. You can add many images at once.
  2. Pick a quality level. 70% is a great balance; lower values give smaller files.
  3. Optionally choose an output format (JPG or WebP usually give the smallest size) and a maximum width.
  4. Press Compress images and download each file, or all of them together as a ZIP.

When is it useful?

  • Meet upload limits on job portals, university and government forms
  • Speed up your website or blog by serving lighter images
  • Send more photos by email or WhatsApp without hitting size limits
  • Free up space on your phone or cloud storage

Why use PandaToolDesk?

Private by design. The Image Compressor runs completely inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, so nobody else can see them — not even us.

Free with no limits. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Use it as often as you like on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone.

Fast results. Because there is nothing to upload, even large files are processed quickly — the speed depends only on your own device.

Frequently asked questions

Will compression reduce the quality of my photo?

At 60–80% quality the difference is almost impossible to see on screen, while the file can be 50–90% smaller. If you need maximum quality, use 85–95%.

How can I compress an image to under 100 KB?

Choose JPG output, set quality to 50–60% and enter a maximum width such as 1200 px. Check the new size shown under the file and lower the quality a little more if needed.

Why did my PNG barely get smaller?

PNG is a lossless format, so browsers cannot shrink it much. Select JPG or WebP as the output format for a much smaller file. Keep PNG only if you need a transparent background.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The compression runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device.
